With the River Stour nearby, there are riverside pubs, boat trips and a picnic site. There are even a couple of national nature reserves. As well as a wildlife animal park. The area is also steeped in history. Our aim is to provide the best experience for vehicle and driver alike.

The historic town of Fordwich is known as “Britain’s Smallest Town”. It’s therefore fitting that Fordwich Town Hall is “Britain’s Smallest Town Hall”. It is also probably one of the oldest. Rarely open to the public please check their website before going. It’s still worth a look from the outside though.

The “Ellen Mary” takes up to 12 passengers along the River Stour. She is an electrically powered, eco friendly boat. The one hour trip is through an area of outstanding natural beauty. The “Ellen Mary” is moored at the Grove Ferry Inn.

A lovely riverside pub which also has rooms should you wish to stay. The Grove Ferry Inn serves good British food. There is also an outside bar and a terrace.

Perfect for picnics and dog walks. With views across the River Stour. The site offers disabled facilities, refreshments and toilets. It is open from dawn to dusk (or 9pm whichever is earlier).

An area of nearly 1,500 acres of wetlands, lakes and woodlands. It is home to a variety of wildlife and especially water fowl. So a great place for birdwatching and walking.
The nature reserve can be accessed from Grove Ferry, Upstreet. There is also an entrance at Stodmarsh where there is a car park. However, this is just over 5 miles from Oaks Vehicle Service Centre.
